This here, is what i have so far for my self portrait. My creative juices are still working with this one and my layers on photoshop were spazzing out on me so i had to stop here for now. Any suggestions?
I really enjoy the emptiness of the composition and the lack of color towards the middle. It made me feel as if you're influenced greatly by your surroundings, and the colors coming from the sides and corners made me feel as if your surroundings and experiences bring color and excitement into your life. This message is universal and that's why it stands out.
Your work looks technically sound, except for some of your edges of the colored aspects of your composition need to be touched up if you didn't intend for them to be more or less jagged.
The work you have done so far I enjoy just because of the empty white space. It gives me the feeling of curiosity to what you are going to put there and it allows me to imagine cool things that you could fill that space with or even just leave it as white. The colors you use are very warm and bright with the blue on the outer portion and alot of white in the middle. Technically your piece looks together and very neat and clean and I cant wait to see what new decisions you bring to your project! -Ryan =)
I enjoyed the simplicity of this piece, even though it's not that busy and colorful at first sight it makes me wonder what you were thinking/feeling when you were creating this piece. I feel as though this is a piece that many different people could look at and because it's not directly making a bold statement a lot of interpretations could be made. The only thing that I am not to fond of are the purple, blue, and rainbow edges but that's also my personal opinion. What were some of your thoughts while creating this piece? Are you a painter? If so what do you enjoy painting most?
I like the black and white with little color, it looks the the start of someone's creative thought process. My eye keeps on going to the objects of the top of the image. The simpleness to the image lets the observer to think about the image. My only suggestion is to maybe redo the patches of color, they don't seem to blend well with the rest of the picture.
Thank you for the feedback.I really appreciate it. The background of the picture is exactly how I feel about this assignment. My mind is completely blank and I attempted to throw the color patches in there but they do seem to be quite jagged. I was thinking to try and fade them in so it will flow better with the background. I don't exactly know what I will add to this piece, but hopefully it turns out as something that can catch the eye. Thanks again :)
